[LOOK BACK] High Ratings of ‘While You Were Sleeping’, Due to Kissing Scenes?

Lee Jong Suk and Bae Suzy’s  drama ‘While You Were Sleeping’ has come to an end last November 16, 2017.

The drama was pre-produced by Teddy Hoon-Tak Jung and Hwang Ki Yong, and was aired from September 27. It was written by Park Hye Run, and directed by Oh Choong Hwan.

In the past news, ‘While You Were Sleeping’ first overtook medical drama ‘Hospital Ship’ as the No. 1 Wednesday-Thursday drama in its time slot on October 5 episode. According to Neilsen Korea, it recorded 7.9% average and 8.9% across nation. The kissing scene between Lee Jong Suk and Suzy in their dreams possibly contributed to such high ratings. On the same time slot and day, ‘Hospital Ship’ recorded 7.1% and 8.3%, while ‘Kang Duk Soon’s Love Story’ recorded ratings of 2.9%.

The lowest rating ‘While You Were Sleeping’ had was during its episodes 5 and 6 on October 4 via TNmS Ratings – 5.0% Nationwide and 5.2% in Seoul Natinal Capital Area. AGB Neilsen recorded 5.1% in Nationwide ratings and 5.6% in Seoul National Capital Area.

Highest ratings were recorded during its episode 8 on October 5 via TNmS Ratings (Nationwide) 9.6%, second was during its episode 12 on October 12 via AGB Neilsen (Seoul National Capital Area) of 11.8%. Lastly, episode 14 on October 14 via TNmS Ratings of Seoul National Capital Area recorded a strong 11.4% and 10.0% via AGB Neilsen Nationwide Ratings.

Thus, ‘While You Were Sleeping’ got an average ratings from AGB Neilsen nationwide of 8.3%.

In addition, this romantic drama won in Korea First Brand Awards in the Drama Category on November 6 as announced by Korea Customers Council.
